Telluride

As we drove into the mountains, I knew what to expect. I'd seen pictures over and over again. It was a beautiful place! Up and up we headed, and the mountains kept coming! But when I saw the waterfall, I just knew...there it was, Bridal Veil Falls...We were finally here!



It's been many years since we have been to a Phish festival, and even though this wasn't exactly an official festival, it certainly felt like one! There was an incredible vibe in the town. Everyone felt lucky to be there! As did we! You could tell it was going to be a great weekend!



The first night threw us for a curveball, though. In all of my planning, never did I imagine that Patrick, of all people, would suffer from altitude sickness! The poor little thing. He certainly wasn't feeling well, and we always said that we'd do what we had to do at Phish to make him comfortable. Being at the show was not there...so we headed back to our tent after the first set to cuddle in and listen from there.



Luckily the second night, he was a bit better. Tylenol seemed to help. So did a familiar playmate, our friend Jude from Vermont! We walked out of that show feeling very much complete after a disaster of a first night!



Telluride was amazing! Everyone was there for the shows, as was quite evident. We'd all travelled so far to be there...we were all together in one place. Special is truly an understatement!

Summer is Here!

It's certainly started off with a bang. Just as fast as the school bell rang last Thursday, I found myself on a whirlwind of a few days catching some Phish shows. You see, this is what we do. While I've turned in my patchwork clothes for more creative endeavors in my house, and the partying for a little one who dances as well, it's still something that means the world to us! First, we headed to Camden, our local venue, for a few shows.



For the first time in 118 shows, I was lucky enough to score Pit Row 3 tickets! I couldn't nearly believe my eyes when the mail order email came through! I took my best friend down with me, and she was ambitious in jumping seats to ride the rail. Figuring I'd never get the chance again, I went with her! Please note: I did NOT bring my child to this show! Only a nut would bring a baby up there!)

I spent the entire show rocking out! Freedom and a clear view of the boys was just a special event for me! I got some good pictures too! I suppose I'll enjoy them because I doubt I'll ever get this lucky again!



Then we were off to Columbia Maryland after taking a night off. The whole weekend was magical. Of course, the journey is different than it was when I was 20, but still, it leaves for moments to forget about the outside world, moments to sparkle and glow (literally!), moments to glance at your Beloved and remember what it was always like, and moments to spend with new friends and old.



For now, we settle into summer peacefully. I can't wait to do it all over again in Telluride!

Disconnected




It's been so long..I forget what it's like when Phish goes on tour. It's like all of a sudden, it's more important at night to follow a setlist and talk to phishy friends instead of watching movies or reading or sewing. The whole world seems to stop and become a blur for a few weeks. Not to mention school is almost out, and that in itself is a tiring ordeal.

Perhaps when things get back to normal, I'll post some normal stuff again ;)
