Apples!

When I was growing up, I had such fond memories of apple picking with my family. We'd head up to Och's Orchard in Warwick, NY, close to where I grew up, and we'd spend the day in the orchard. The trees were always fun to climb. We'd sit and eat apples all the while for the afternoon.

We've decided to make our own traditions here, southward in New Jersey, with a local orchard, Russo's. The trees aren't nearly as large, but I suppose they'll grow as our tradition grows.

We even got to ride on a hayride!

Fall Gatherings

Sometimes it takes good friends to remind you once in a while that you can still have a good time. Peculiarly enough, those friends happen to have their own baby who, I'm sure, will grow up to be best of friends with Patrick. We spent the evening doing everything just so...

drinking good ale,

eating good food,

sharing stories,

playing music,

and carving pumpkins.

It was the perfect fall evening despite the continually rain just outside...

Back to my Roots

Once upon a time, there was a girl in college who majored in textiles who wished to work for a company like this. Then, she realized, she loved art so much that she feared if it became her career, she might come to hate it. Afterall, you can't force creativity. Everyone has moments of blah and moments of genius.

After many years, I've decided it's time to go back to my roots a bit. I put in an order to Dharma..no..not from LOST! It came today! I can't wait to make P some cute little dyed shirts! He's gonna be such a hip baby when I'm done with him! I've also got some other tricks up my sleeve for Christmas. Hopefully, they go over well!

Autumn on its Way

When I woke up this morning, it was raining...a lot...but somehow, the wind managed to sweep away the gloom and bring out the sun. Of course, when I came home, Patrick and I decided to take a walk with the wagon. He really loves the thing. He can sit up and see all around him and of course, it's loud!

We saw many signs that autumn is on its way, including a bustling wind that spun us around. He had fun exploring a pine cone for the first time, and I enjoyed the fall air.
