As the days grow longer...

the time sneaks past, with our bustle of spring activity. I find myself digging out in the garden, hoping for a better garden than in the past, as always. I don't plant vegetables. You see, I'm a flower gardener. I have sage and mint, but for the most part, I just like looking at my garden. It is ever changing, and this year is no different. I've opened up a vast area in hopes of new and interesting plants this year. I'll certainly post pictures when things start sprouting!

Patiently Waiting

Today is the day. Anxiety has set in. We haven't gotten lucky in two other lotteries, why would this one be any different? But yet, there is still a glimmer of hope..that perhaps, the ticket gods will smile upon us. Will we get our phish tickets today? Nobody knows..Fingers are crossed!

The First "Day" of Spring

I know, it's not really for another five days, but it really comes early for us every year. Two weeks ago, snow blanketed our porches and lawns, but this weekend was very different. We gathered at Elissa's for the annual St. Patrick's Day parade. It's truly a first sign of spring! We gather on the lawn, as the children all run past us. Aran sweaters seem to be the garment of choice to keep the spring chill from setting in. We warm our tummys with delicious potluck food. The men in kilts parade past us as the Irish step dancers make their way down Hamilton Avenue. It may not be official, but for us, it will always be the first day of spring!

Turning 180

Wow, what a weekend! Saturday started off with temperatures skyrocketing towards 70! After a quick adventure to get Patrick some new jammies, we headed out for our first family outdoor adventure since fall! The weather was amazing! Unfortunately, with a thaw, also comes some mud. Still we managed to trudge on and get a fun little hike in. Sunday was equally as beautiful, and I found myself enjoying my garden once again. Man, I haven't done this since early last year! I've really missed digging in the dirt! A little man sat out on the deck rather than in my tum, allowing me to do some well needed garden reworking. Good things are happening out there! I can't wait until the weather stays this warm!

One Last Blast

Winter has decided to leave us one last gift. This particular winter storm snuck up on us out of nowhere. When I left work on Friday, no one anticipated having the day off today. I'm thankful for one extra day, especially with my little man teething, so I'll take it, even if I dread thinking about the end of June when I'll be begging for summer to come even faster. For now, it was a well needed cuddle rest day. Hopefully this snow melts just as fast as it came in. Bring on Spring!
