The Beginning of a New Era

So everyone keeps telling me they don't want to see the accident, they want to see the new car. So here it is, my 2002 VW Golf..Hopefully, she'll bring me to many wonderful places..hell, even a phish show or two?

The End of an Era

Two days ago, I was in a car accident. You'd think a Catholic School Teacher driving to a Catholic School Event might be looked after *IF* there was a God. Note, I say IF, because it becomes one more reason for me to believe that *IF* there is a God, he is NOT a very nice one. I was making a left turn onto the street of the high school and there was a girl coming straight at me. It was a 35 MPH zone and she managed to hit my rear passenger side, spin my car around and into another car then end up 30 feet up the road. Yeah, 35 huh? I'll believe that..uhm..NEVER.. So the cop was a dick..telling me to stay away from my car, even when the tow truck driver told me to get what I needed out of my car. The cop was "running the show here". I tried to be cooperative..so anyway, I got the ticket. At the towing place, they told me to file a reverse charge against her for the same thing, careless driving. I have to do that on Monday, which means it will most likely get thrown out which will assist me greatly with insurance.

For a mere few hours, I felt so out of control without a car. That car was special to me. It was the last thing my mother could have possibly given me. I had that car for 6 years without a hitch. It took good care of me. I don't WANT a new car, I want MY car. My precious blood red VW Golf...That's the only car I want.

Obviously, I don't have a choice. Joe and I rationalized about what to do. We decided that we needed to get a car so we went out and bought one. Granted, we had to finance, and for the first time in our lives, we have a car payment.

So what did I get you ask? I toyed with the idea of a Beetle, for about ten seconds before I realized that I can't put a kayak on/in it and that it's only a two door so somewhere down the line, putting a baby in the back would prove difficult. I toyed with the idea of a hybrid, if only I had that kind of money! So I got a good dependable car...

I got another Golf. It's a 2002, Silver, Sun Roof, 5 speed (very important). Imagine that, a Golf! Who would have thought?! ;)
