Happy Due Date!

I just walked in from a beautiful day on Long Beach Island. Joe and I took Patrick down to the beach for the day to spend time with Elise, Ty, and the boys. It was rather surreal knowing that we've settled into parenthood rather smoothly. The beach was gorgeous. Patrick hung out in his shade shelter for most of the time, but I did manage to snap a few shots of him just lounging about!

It's amazing that today could have been the day. Today, Patrick is 40 weeks in the making. I'm so glad he came early. He really did make perfect timing: just after Vibes, but with enough time that I could spend one last blissful day at the beach with Elise. Perhaps we'll sneak one more in before we turn in for the fall!

Happy Anniversary Dear Joe!

Yes, it was yesterday. We had a nice quiet day at home after Patrick's 1st doctor's appointment that we walked to. 7 years. He asked what I wanted, and honestly, I could want for nothing more right now. I've got two beautiful men in my life. Patrick is a dreamy baby. Life is good! Here is to 7 amazing years..and many many more! Love you!

Babymoon!

So we are headed into a sleepy night four! Hopefully it will be as restful as the past few nights have been. Patrick loves his sleep. He sleeps so much that we've got to wake him up to feed him often!

Over the past three nights, we've had only one or two minimal wakings in the night and none of them lengthy. Joe is the best daddy in the whole wide world! He is just a natural pro! You'll see if you check out my flickr that he really has stepped up to the plate. I can't get over how wonderful he is with the baby! Today he even gave Patrick his first bath. Patrick didn't really love being wet though!

NICU (and we thought it was just for Phish)

Sorry for the lack of updates, we rather had a rough go of it there for a few days! Patrick stayed at the baby resort (NICU) for an extra day because he was all jaundiced! We were originally slated to come home on Saturday, but his levels were up and the recommended we stay for an extra night. It was the first time I've been taught to put the needs of my child first, and it was heartbreaking, but we stayed. I hoped for the best, but at around 9am on Sunday, we were told he couldn't go home and they needed to put him under the bili lights for 24 hours to bring his bilirubin levels down. I was composed enough to be OK with it. Joe and I could head home, go food shopping, get accessories for the pump the hospital gave me, and just get ready for him. I had to pump every few hours just to stimulate, and it worked, so that's great! We headed back to the hospital on Sunday night for a few hours before heading home to a good nights sleep.

Apparently, I woke up in the morning and flipped out on Joe, Where is he?! Where is my little man?! Why'd you leave him downstairs?! Yep, I missed him alright! I don't even remember this whole incident...we ate breakfast, got ready, and headed back for the duration of the day on Monday..They had to test him in the afternoon, but he was off the lights so I could at LEAST hold him all day long..that's all that mattered! We were told late in the day we could finally take him home! He was ours! Boy, was I relieved!

So here we are, enjoying our baby moon, no visitors, no phone calls, just Joe, Patrick, and I. Snuggling together. Joe's even found some time to play him a tune or two!

He's here!

Yes!! HE is here! Took everyone for a loop, we all thought HE was a SHE! None the less, he's precious and beautiful and we love him so much! Patrick Finn Conroy arrived at 2:21 AM this morning, 8/8/08 weighing in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 19.3 inches long. He's the most mellow baby, just like inside :) Although he was early, he's doing just fine! More to come later, until then, enjoy this sneak peak at the rest of our life!

Game On!

So I woke up this morning, knowing I had an OB appointment. I got dressed and ready and went down for breakfast. As I was eating breakfast, I felt a gush right down my leg. I stood up, more gush...upstairs, yet again! So needless to say, 2-3 weeks early, baby is coming whether we are ready or not! I'll certainly keep you all updated, but in the meantime, send me easy labor vibes. I'm at Labor and Delivery right now and we aren't leaving without a baby!
