Happy New Year!
May the new year bring you all that you've ever wanted. Wow, a new decade! Already? Boy is time starting to fly! From start to finish, where have we been? The decade started out in greatness, ringing it in in the Everglades amongst our closest friends and favorite band. Only months later, my mom passed away, leaving me reeling. She was the heart and soul of our family. I continued to finish my teaching certificate, plan my wedding, make my wedding dress while student teaching, and get married all while Phish was on hiatus. Luckily for us, they came back for an encore performance for 2 years, where Joe and I managed life on our own while living on Ward Avenue, learning the hard lessons of a garden apartment. Then, McKnight fell into our laps, and suddenly we found ourselves new homeowners of a 150 year old house. I started teaching Catholic School for three years before moving on to a great public school, where I am now. Phish called it quits. After settling in to our house comfortably, we decided it was time to add to our family, not without heartbreak in trying, losing my father, and being told it wasn't possible, 2007 found us expecting. Boy was that a great Christmas present! The luckiest day of the decade, 8/8/08, brought us Mr. Patrick Finn, now finally comfortably settling into toddlerhood! Only to find out a few months later that all was not lost with Phish, and they've come back! Through all of this, our relationship has persevered, which I'm proud to say considering it seems as if we are often surrounded by divorce! Here's to a new decade filled with new adventures, creativity, and love!
I finished the last of the Great Handmade Christmas gifts today! Two lucky little fellows will be getting their own collections of playsilks courtesy of me! Here is just a taste of this goodness! Patrick also has a set that he's become quite fond of lately, pulling them out of an old wipes container and swinging them in the air like he's flying. I made no mistake in making them for him, and I'm sure they'll find many many uses as the years go by!
