Baby is COMING!

Well...today the baby is coming! First, let me say I'm OK with this. The Placenta Previa is still there and it is still very complete. It isn't going anywhere in two weeks. They took me downstairs for an ultrasound a little bit earlier and we saw the baby on an ultrasound. I had a much better experience here than I did at Cooper. First, the room was much more spacious, the tech was much much nicer, and the perinatologist came in to talk to me and give me details and answer all the questions we asked.

Basically, I'm not currently bleeding. But the problem is, I am starting to dilate. This is the reason I had the first bleed on Friday night in the first place. Now, I could have another bleed. It could be much worse. If it is much worse, I could begin to hemorrhage. If I hemorrhage, they had a very SCANT window of about 10 minutes from the time I begin to get the baby out before it could end up a still birth.

At 36 weeks on the dot, the baby is looking perfectly healthy. It even has some hair! We watched it do practice breathing, the heart and kidneys look fine. They estimate the weight to be about 6 pounds 9 ounces. So in everyone's best interest, they are pulling the baby today...In about 2 hours to be precise!

For those of you who know me best, you know that ultimately the idea of a c-section is absolutely devastating..but the idea of a still birth is obviously much more devastating. After what we've been through, I'm done...I'm so done...I just want a healthy baby...and I'm very much ok with this. The idea of spending the next 3 weeks in limbo, on bedrest, and worrying about whether or not I'm going to bleed really doesn't fare well. In 3 weeks, I'll be home with the baby, and on the mend. It sounds like a much more lucrative option.

So please keep us in your thoughts and prayers and we'll update you as soon as possible!
